PAW Patrol Theme Song

The theme song of the PAW Patrol series

The PAW Patrol Theme Song, or "PAW Patrol Opening Theme"[1] is the theme song of the PAW Patrol series. It is played at the start of each episode. The song is performed by Scott Simons, composed by Michael Smidi Smith and written by Scott Krippayne.

Composition

The song - a rock tune - is sung in A major.

Sequence

The sequence starts with a view of Adventure Bay, zooms in with The Lookout where the pups enter in. Ryder uses a device as a remote. The remote clicks and the monitor shows all of pups' emblems. The pups (along with Everest) are in a pitch and playing soccer, glowing their emblems on their collars (pups jumping off pup vehicles from Season 1 to Season 2). Transition to bones, Ryder points the emblem. The pups pose, jump up, slide and hop on their half doghouse-vehicles. Ryder uses a motorcycle along with the pups, taking us all places. Marshall has a big problem with Alex, who is on the cliff while holding a egg. The pteranodon and Skye's helicopter fly. The egg tosses to Marshall and Cap'n Turbot (like Everest, he never appeared in the Season 1-2 sequence) sees a baby pteranodon. The child falls down from the cliff and Chase uses a launcher to catch Alex. Season 1 and 2 had Alex and Cali on top of a tree while a ladder appeared and Skye's heli flied above the tree. We pan to reveal Alex looking, then laughing while Marshall appears and Cali pounces on him while Ryder and the other pups (sans Skye, who's still at the heli) watch, shocked. Marshall falls while Cali licks her paw. Alex falls off a tree. Chase catches Alex via a net (additional shot featuring only the net on a moving line background). Back at the Lookout, Ryder throws pup treats to the pups. The pups eat them, then play with Ryder. Zoom out to the show’s logo, a pup (possibly Rocky) barks off screen, and finally, the logo shines in sync with the last note.

Lyrics

MEN:

PAW Patrol, PAW Patrol
We'll be there on the double
Whenever there's a problem
'Round Adventure Bay
Ryder and his team of pups
Will come and save the day
Marshall, Rubble, Chase
Rocky, Zuma, Skye
Yeah! They're on the way!
PAW Patrol, PAW Patrol
Whenever you're in trouble
PAW Patrol, PAW Patrol
We'll be there on the double
No job's too big
No pup's too small!
PAW Patrol, we're on a roll!
So here we go
PAW Patrol
Whoa-oh-oh-oh
PAW Patrol
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh
PAW Patrol!
*Bark*

Trivia

  • The opening sequence was animated in Canada by the same studio that recently worked on The Backyardigans.
  • Cap'n Turbot and Everest were added to the opening sequence in Season 3.
  • In the Nick Jr. dance version of the theme song, the song is slightly extended.
  • The pan shot of Adventure Bay at the start of the theme song is different from Season 3 onwards.
  • In April 2019, the theme song was featured in the NOW That's What I Call Music Kids playlist.
Season 8 intro - Cap'n Turbot coloring error

Cap'n Turbot's shoes are the wrong colour.

  • In the Season 8 update of the theme song, there is a colouring error with Cap'n Turbot's shoes, which are coloured the same as his skin.
  • There is a different bark at the end of the theme song. This applies to Season 7 (early episodes) and the same season's later episodes (which is the current bark), though some Season 8 and 10 episodes have the original bark from the Season 1-7 theme.
  • In the U.S. version of the theme from the first season, the Nickelodeon logo appears in the corner of the title screen. Numerous seasons place the logo in different positions.
  • Seasons 1 and 2 are the only seasons to have the original version of the theme song.
  • In "Dino Rescue: Pups and the Lost Dino Eggs", the theme song is altered to show clips of Dino Rescue episodes.
  • In the Hebrew version, an extra bark was added to the end of the intro.
  • A remixed version of the theme plays in the credits of the first theatrical film, while the original theme plays in the film's first (original length) and final deployment scenes (abbreviated and "Yeah! They're on the way!" is replaced with "And Liberty!" to showcase Liberty).
  • Starting with Season 3, additional decorations were added in the final scene of the intro before the logo appeared, such as trees. Originally, in Season 1, only the Lookout was included, with no decorations.
  • The Persian (Soren) dub of PAW Patrol has the theme song dubbed, albeit with a custom instrumental and a man and a children's chorus singing instead of Scott Simmons. The ToyToy Persian dub has the normal instrumental. And the rest of the dubs were left in English (one of them had the same Soren Persian theme song but with the normal instrumental and a different voiceover). The Persian Javaneh dub replaces the theme with a Neon Genesis Evangelion theme song, albeit instrumental only.
